The old Taylor Swift might be dead and unable to come to the phone right now, but she seems to have a lot in common with the new Taylor: seeing as how she's still smashing world records and spending time with a cute new boyfriend. And, according to People, things are going very well with said cute new boyfriend.
A source close to Taylor reportedly told the magazine that the singer and Joe Alwyn are "very happy together" and have been spending plenty of time together, far away from prying eyes. "Her decision to keep her relationship with Joe quiet is making her happy," the source said. "They have been getting to know each other slowly without any pressure." Joe and Taylor have spent the last few months flying back and forth between the U.S. and Joe's native U.K., where he was filming his next movie, The Favourite. According to the source, Joe "is very happy about spending time at home with Taylor," and "they seem to be on the same page. Joe is getting to know Taylor’s parents and everyone likes him. He is very supportive of her work."
Taylor, 27, was first linked to the 26-year-old actor, who had his breakout role in last year's Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, in May. The following month, a source told E! News that the duo's relationship was one of the Grammy winner's most "secretive." And yet another source told the outlet, "It was her goal to keep it a secret even though it's all really light still. She barely told any of her friends. She got buried in media being on top of her life during the last relationship, so she tried everything in her power to not have that happen again. She worked very closely with her security team and management to make sure her life going forward was private. All of that madness really affected her."
Despite the low-key couple's determination to keep things under wraps, Taylor's infamous squad seems to be in on the secret. There's speculation that Taylor and Joe could have been set up by either Gigi Hadid — who posed next to Joe in a September 2016 photoshoot for Vogue — or Emma Stone — who is starring alongside Joe in The Favourite. And just last month, Joe and Taylor went on a double date with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in Rhode Island. Then, earlier this summer, when asked about Taylor's new relationship, Selena Gomez slyly said, "Honestly, if my friends are happy, that makes me happy. That's all I care about. So, I'm super stoked, too. It's been a good time."
