Warriors Hold Record for Longest Home Winning Streak in NBA History

The tsunami that is the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors kept making history Monday night.

With a 119-113 win over the Orlando Magic at the Oracle Arena, the Warriors set a new record for the longest home winning streak in NBA history. They have now won an incredible 45 straight home games.

The Warriors have not lost a home game since they fell to the Chicago Bulls in overtime on January 27, 2015. It has been 404 days since the Warriors last lost at the Oracle Arena. It is also interesting to note that before losing their last home game on January 27, 2015 their most recent home loss was November 11, 2014. In summary the Warriors don’t lose at home very much.

Here are some things that have happened since then:

-There have been two Super Bowl champions (The Patriots and Broncos)
-The Cubs have been to an NLCS
-Luke Ridnour has been a part of four NBA organizations
-Joel Embiid has not played in a single NBA game (threw that in for fun)

The Warriors started a six-game hometsand last night and are now 28-0 at home for the season. They still have a very good chance to set the record for wins in an NBA season and could become the first team in NBA history to go 41-0 at home.

If that were the case they could extend their regular season home winning streak to over 600 days.

In related news, Steph Curry became the first player in NBA history to hit 300 three-pointers in a season last night, with 20 games left.

Let’s continue to watch in awe as this Warriors team redefines the limits of what can be achieved in the NBA.
