Are you ready for some Leighton Meester dish, Upper East Siders?
The 2017 Golden Globes ceremony aired Sunday night (January 8), and it was chock-full of memorable moments. However, one of the most exciting events of the evening happened at an after-party thrown by the bigwigs at Warner Bros. That's where Leighton Meester, the iconic actress and casual queen known for playing the raven-haired, headband-clad Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, debuted her new, very blond hair.
Yup, it seems Meester has taken cues from her Gossip Girl best frenemy Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and gone all sunshiney on us. What would Dorota think?!
Of course, Meester has gone blond before. (Do a quick Google search, and you'll find throwback pictures of Meester serving some Elle Woods realness.) However, this is the first time in a while (more than 20 weeks, according to Instagram) that Meester has gone blond—let alone this blond. And we're so here for it. Check out the new color—which, in all seriousness, is lovely—in the photo, below:
But we do have some questions. Is she Serena van der Woodsen now? Did the ghost of Bart Bass visit Meester in her dreams and inform her that it's time to leave her headbands behind and live life as the clueless, ridiculous Serena? And the first step to that is going blond?! Did Meester attempt to scheme her way out of this but failed?! We all know Blair Waldorf loves a good scheme.
Or is Gossip Girl actually fake and Meester just wanted to change up her look? And by change, we mean go back to her natural roots. (Meester was actually blond before auditioning for Gossip Girl, but she dyed her hair dark brown so producers would buy her as Blair!) Unfortunately, that's probably what happened—but it's fun to fantasize, am I right?
