Pose’s Dominique Jackson to Play Literal Goddess on American Gods

It only took a few episodes of Pose to confirm that Dominique Jackson, aka Elektra WIntour (nee Abundance), was a goddess. But now it's set in stone, as the actress has been cast on the upcoming third season of American Gods.

Jackson will play Ms. World, the female incarnation of Crispin Glover's character Mr. World, according to The Wrap. Jackson joins fellow new cast member Eric Johnson, who will play Lakeside police chief Chad Mulligan. Marilyn Manson, Blythe Danner, Herizen Guardiola, and Eric Johnson have been announced as guest stars as well as Ashley Reyes who joins as a new series regular. Returning series regulars Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Bruce Langley, Yetide Badaki, Crispin Glover, Peter Stormare, Devery Jacobs, Omid Abtahi, and Demore Barnes have all been confirmed.

"I'm so forever grateful," Jackson wrote on Twitter.

The Starz series, based on Neil Gaiman's novel, follows ex-con Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) as he's unwittingly pulled into a battle between the old gods like Odin (known as Mr. Wednesday and played by Ian McShane) and the new gods of technology and media. Glover's Mr. World heads the new gods as they attempt to eradicate the old gods from existence in an effort to keep human belief, which gives them their power, all to themselves.

Mother Electra leading a battle between the forces of good and evil, getting to take the fabulous villainy she's become known for on Pose to a cosmic level? We love to see it.

The new season will see Shadow finally journey to the mysterious town of Lakeside, a section of Gaiman's novel that fans have been dying to finally see on screen. There's no word yet on when the new season will premiere -- American Gods has changed showrunners again -- but we'll be eagerly awaiting the chance to see Jackson play the goddess we been knew she is.
