To show off how durable the Countryman plug-in hybrid is, MINI is driving three MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 models from Dallas, Texas down to Ushuaia in the Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. The Panamericana tour will see the three Countryman plug-in hybrids travel through several countries on its way down to the southernmost point in South America.
The route covers just over 10,000 miles and will take up to six weeks to complete. After departing Texas, the three Countryman plug-in hybrids will travel through several countries, including Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia and Ecuador. The route then passes through Peru and Chile to cross the South American continent before running down the Atlantic coast as far as Ushuaia in the Argentinian part of Tierra del Fuego. Arrival in Ushuaia is planned for August 29, 2018.
To prepare for the trip, the team didn’t do too many modifications to the three MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 vehicles with the biggest add ons being additional headlamps, tires with emergency running properties and a roof rack to transport a spare wheel.
