Lamborghini tantalized us with the introduction of the 770-horsepower Centenario megacar at the Geneva Motor Show in March, rolling out a closed-roof coupe but promising us that a sensational open-top Centenario Roadster would follow. Lambo’s latest has gotten even more buzz since it debuted at Monterey Car Week.

As with the coupe, Lamborghini will build only 20 of the convertibles, and naturally, they are all already spoken for. Which leaves you with $2.27 million you didn’t spend on Lamborghini’s 219-mph tanning booth.

The V12 Roadster rockets to 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds, aided by a relatively light 3,461-lb. curb weight courtesy of its all-carbon fiber construction.

While occupants inside the Centenario Roadster should be focused on appreciating the car’s peerless sensory experience as they are coddled in the leather seats, serenaded by the V12’s tuneful note and bathed in sunlight, Lamborghini provides the opportunity for more screen time with the car’s 10.1-inch touch-screen display that works with Apple CarPlay to let you use mobile apps on the go. As if you’d want to.

The Centenario Roadster is as close as you’ll come to automotive nirvana, so it is no surprise that 20 discerning enthusiasts ponied up the millions needed to get one.

As Ferris Bueller memorably suggested, “If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.”
