2018 was starting off strong until today when HBO announced Thursday that ‘Game of Thrones‘ will not return until 2019 for it’s eight and final season. Of course, this may not be a shock to everyone since it’s been speculated about for months.

Back in December Sophie Turner told Variety that Game of Throne’s wouldn’t return until 2019, which matches what Cunningham had said about production going through till 2018. Because of the post-production of the show we knew that this would mean the show most likely wouldn’t return until 2019 as post-production can take months to finish. It’s a long wait for 6 episodes, but hell if we can wait over a year for Doctor Who or Rick and Morty we’re sure that we can survive this.

HBO did not release a specific start date for the six-episode run. It did, however, confirm that episodes will be written by showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, as well as Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill.

Are you sad there won’t be any Game of Throne’s this Spring? Or are you okay with waiting it out? let us know in the comments below.
