Even when they’re not in front of the camera, actors work hard to bring your favorite characters to life. For some celebrities, that happens through directing or screenwriting. Others lend their voices to animated TV shows and movies.

Disney Channel shows like Phineas and Ferb and Kim Possible were particularly chock-full of famous voices, but plenty of the cartoons you grew up watching actually featured someone you’d recognize today.

Eliza Thornberry, voiced by Lacy Chabert

Before she was a Plastic in Mean Girls, young Lacey Chabert voiced Eliza Thornberry on Nickelodeon’s The Wild Thornberries. Who could forget the girl who talked to animals? [Note: Nickelodeon and MTV News are both owned by Viacom.]

In the crossover movie Rugrats Go Wild, Eliza Thornberry had a pleasant chat with Spike Pickles, who was surprisingly voiced by Bruce Willis.

Taffy, voiced by Amanda Bynes

Another Rugrats character, Taffy the babysitter, was voiced by Penelope Taynt Amanda Bynes. In the episode “Happy Taffy,” she played guitar and sang sad emo songs. She was such a bummer, the babies made it their mission to cheer her up.
