Mega Millions jackpot rises $654 million after, now the second largest in game's history

The Mega Millions jackpot jumped to a whopping $654 million after no one claimed the prize after Friday night’s drawing.

Mega Millions officials on Saturday revealed no tickets matched the six numbers pulled to take home the grand prize, previously at $548 million. They were 4, 24, 46, 61, 70 and Mega Ball 7.

No one has won the jackpot since July when a group of California office workers took home a huge $543 million.

The pot has been growing ever since.

The estimated total, with a cash option of $372.6 million, is the second highest in the game’s history — just $2 million less than the largest pot won in March 2012.

It could also be the fourth largest win in all of United States History, with a pair of Powerball drawings topping the biggest Mega Million Pot.

The winning ticket for the record-breaking $1.58 billion Powerball jackpot was drawn in January 2016 in Florida. New York, however, has sold the most winning tickets in the game’s history, with nearly 40 wins in the 16 years.

The next Mega Millions drawing is slated for Tuesday.
