The 670 HP ‘Four Horseman’ Ford Bronco Is a Sky Blue Stunner

A killer custom off-roader that’s built to thrill old-school Bronco fans.

It’s 2019, and the Bronco reboot Ford has been promising forever is due out next year. But that modern SUV will almost certainly lack the gritty charm that made the original pickup a stone-cold classic, which is why we’re thankful for this “Four Horseman” Bronco restomod from Maxlider Brothers Customs. 

The Chicago-based shop started with the frame from a ’66—the year the first-gen Bronco was launched—and lengthened the chassis by 26 inches to accommodate two extra doors and seats.

A whopping 670 horsepower comes courtesy of Roush Performance’s supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, while custom four-wheel disc brakes provide stopping power. And those are just of few of the major upgrades given to this undeniably awesome vintage pickup.

The Bronco is four-wheel drive; the axles are from Currie Industries, with Yukon Gear & Axle supplying the driveshafts, differentials, and locking hubs. MJR Industries created the custom suspension, which includes Fox Racing shocks. BFGoodrich 37 x 12.5/20 tires wrap 20-by-12.5-inch gloss-black wheels.

Power-deploying assist steps help passengers climb aboard. The custom-fabricated interior includes three rows of seats, upholstered in marine performance vinyl, while Wetsounds Bluetooth sound bars and subwoofers help supply the tunes.

Given that the less powerful, two-door Bronco restomods we’ve seen before sell for around $200,000, don’t be surprised to chip in another 100 grand to own one of these epic builds.
