Russian Instagram Users Flock To a Toxic Power Plant’s Ash Dump Because Water Looks Like Maldives

Some time ago we featured Instagram Influencers In Chernobyl. Now we encourage you to Search the “ТЭЦ-5” location tag on Instagram, and you’ll be flooded with picturesque shots of bright blue water, couples taking their wedding photos, yoga poses and even a few people swimming in it. But the “Novosibirsk Maldives” isn’t a luxurious oasis, it’s actually a chemical waste dump in Russia. Responding to the selfies, the Russian power company that runs the plant urged people not to go near the water, because it’s heavily contaminated.

  5. Let’s say that all people from Russia are dumb because of this post.
Grow up people: idiots, like capitalism, are world-wide.

Take a look to Italy, where I live: we are all italian-food enthusiasts but most of our tomatoes and mozzarella are made in places contaminated by trash, nuclear wastes and pollution in general. But racism and ignorance lend people to think that “home-made” products are better. And people come from all over the world to taste the famous “pizza napoletana” that probably is made by radioactive flour from Ukraine and nuclear tomatoes from “terra dei fuochi” in Campania.

I can’t say for USA since I’ve never been there but, honestly, there’s history enough to say that probably idiots knows no nationality or country borders.

I would like just to add that braggers, basic people with no talent and money that pretend to live and maintain social accounts like VIP, are a recent particular kind of idiots that I love: again, they’re from USA, Russia, Italy… they are everywhere and they fill our days with their pathetic selfies. Please god, send us more! We need more fake happy people to hide all the sadness of this trash-full globe!

  8. Well, the water *is* pretty. They can just remind themselves of it while the doctors treat their chemical burns.
