Rousey (12-1) was knocked out in November 2015 by Holly Holm and took somewhat of a sabbatical from the sport, focusing on her acting career and recovering from a variety of nagging injuries.

In her absence, the bantamweight championship has been the hot potato of the UFC, bouncing from Holm to Miesha Tate and now it's in the hands of Amanda Nunes.
