Katy Perry Perfectly Responded To A Fan Who Said Her Career Is ‘Over’

Her new era is actually well on the way, thankyouverymuch 😘

It looks like Katy Perry’s new era is upon us, haters be damned.

During an impromptu Twitter Q&A last night (September 18), KP perfectly responded to a troll who said her latest single “Rise” flopped and that her career is over. “See you at my show 2K17,” she replied, along with a sarcastic smoochy face. Read: She’s most likely going on tour next year. Read even further: We can probably expect a new album soon as well.

Perry’s fifth album, the follow-up to 2013’s Prism, has been in the works for a while now. Her manager, Steven Jensen, said in a press conference last spring that she “plans to release her next album by 2016,” though that didn’t exactly present a clear timeline. Perry gave a status update to the New York Times earlier this year by saying she’s “in the research and development phase” of recording, and in August, she told Elvis Duran that she’s working with a lot of “people that you wouldn’t necessarily expect to pair me with.”

Sounds like #KP5 is well on the way, and Perry will be back on the road in no time. Until then, she’ll keeping rising above anyone who dares question the victory in her veins.
