Model Gets Forehead Reduction Surgery And People Can’t Believe That’s A Thing

You’ve heard of rhinoplasty, breast enhancement, and many other types of plastic surgery, but forehead reduction? Probably not.

Until now.

Meet Camilla Colbro, a 26-year-old model who is absolutely gorgeous.

Being absolutely gorgeous doesn’t seem to protect anyone from feeling certain insecurities, however, and Colbro is no exception.

She has been posting some very vulnerable videos on TikTok about a “flaw” she’s wanted to change for some time and finally having the money and will to do it: making her forehead smaller.

In her first viral TikTok about it, which has been watched over 36 MILLION times, Colbro says she’s always been insecure about how tall her forehead is. She’s always worn her hair in bangs to cover it.

Apparently, this is a thing other people have felt weird about, because a surgery exists to make your forehead smaller. Colbro decided to take advantage of that, and she got the surgery done, showing images of herself swaddled and healing in the aftermath:

BuzzFeed interviewed Colbro about the decision and the intense reaction on TikTok.

“I was always kind of uncomfortable with the size of my forehead in proportion to my face. I just kind of thought it was too big for me personally,” she said, adding that it made her feel bald.

What’s weird about the TikTok is that a lot of people responded to Colbro’s choice to have the surgery, even though people get all kinds of cosmetic work done all the time.

“Some people say, ‘You don’t love yourself,'” she said. “I think you can still have insecurities and change yourself on the outside, while still loving yourself on the inside.”

There have also been a lot of people who are interested in getting the surgery themselves, though Colbro told BuzzFeed that she didn’t intend to encourage people to get it themselves.

“I didn’t do it to make anyone else feel self-conscious about it,” she said. “Especially when people are like, ‘Wow, I’m just noticing my forehead is big, should I get this done?’ I’m like, hell no, you’re just noticing this, it isn’t an actual issue.”

Also, not everyone is really a candidate for a forehead reduction. You can’t have certain preexisting conditions, and your forehead needs to be stretchable, which not everyone’s is.

“They make an incision right at your hairline, and then they have to lift up your scalp a bit and how far they can move it depends on the elasticity of your skin,” Colbro explained. “They make another incision where they see how far down they can pull your scalp, and then they cut out the middle part and they stitch it back together.”

Yup, that’s definitely not for everybody. Colbro’s scalp has been reduced about three millimeters and there are people who say it doesn’t look like much has changed. Actually, the incision line is shaved, and as it grows back the reduction will be more noticeable.

Good for her!
