GMC Teases Hummer Electric Vehicle

And we thought the Hummer brand is dead. Apparently it isn’t. OK. Technically, the brand is still dead. But it is making a come back. This time, it will go straight under the wings of GMC and not quite as a brand itself.

Plus, it is going to be an electric vehicle. But not just any EV; it will be an electric supertruck. Don’t believe? Just look at the numbers GMC has put out:

  • 1,000 horsepower
  • 11,500 lb-ft of torque
  • 0-60 mph in 3 seconds

Basically, those are numbers that make supercars squirm. Beyond those numbers and the tease of the of the grill-less front end of what would-be the Hummer EV, there’s really nothing much to go around.

However, auto enthusiasts may want to watch out for a 30-second TV spot scheduled to air during the second quarter of the Big Game on Sunday.

GMC said the spot highlights the anticipated performance of GMC’s all-electric super truck, “which will generate remarkable metrics in terms of horsepower, torque and acceleration while providing incredible on- and off-road capability.”

That’s not all. If you hit up YouTube homepage today, you will see that GMC has took over the YouTube homage masthead on this day:

Last but not least, GMC has posted not one, not two, but four teaser videos on Thursday, each highlight the said metrics. We have embedded all the videos below if you are keen, go ahead and have a look.
