The Guild: A Glamorous New Emporium in SoHo from Roman & Williams

January 3, 2018

If you’ve lounged in the Ace Hotel lobby in Chelsea, dined at Le Coucou in SoHo, or stayed at the Greydon House in Nantucket, you’ve experienced the glamorous but laid-back Roman & Williams vibe. The husband/wife design team has done up houses and apartments for movie stars and worked on largish condo developments, but lately they’re been focused on a more intimate, personal project called the Gild, a modern-day emporium/cafe/restaurant/bookstore focused on titles from Phaidon. Also on offer: the couple’s 50-piece Founding Collection of furniture, lighting, and accessories. We dropped in for a tour a couple of weeks ago; here’s what we found.
