Farrah Abraham Defends Herself After Fans Took Issue With What She Let Her 13-Year-Old Daughter Do to Her Body

Ah, the teenage years! It’s a time for pushing the boundaries and figuring out who you are. And Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham is currently in the middle of it right now with her 13-year-old daughter Sophia.

Over the last several months, the world has watched Sophia come into her own, via social media. She has died her hair and now she getting into piercings.

As Sophia revealed on her Instagram account, she received the piercing for her 13 birthday. And the comments section was filled with disapproving statements.

“Are you serious? A septum piercing for a 13-year-old she still a baby,” one person wrote. “A septum piercing at her age is too young smh,” another added.

“Sorry am I the only one that thinks WTF she’s 13! Why has that even been allowed?”

“I think this generation of 13 is much different than my generation of 13,” Abraham told TMZ. “Sophia is the first win my family to get a septum piercing. Especially at 13.”

The mom then went on to defend why she allowed her daughter to get her septum pierced at such a young age. “I would rather, this might be the cool mom in me or just a loving parent, but I would rather it be by a professional, sanitized and clean, then my teen going, sneaking off, doing it herself, getting an infection, and whatnot.”

And even though Abraham admits she wasn’t for the piercing, she considers herself blessed that her daughter came to her and Sophia did the piercing by the book. “She did better than her COVID shot,” Abraham jokes. “I am shocked.”

She then addressed the mom-shamers out there who don’t agree with her decision to allow her 13-year-old to pierce her septum. “We abided by the law. I am doing my best as a parent to make sure she is healthy and happy. And I covered those bases.”

Abraham said she will do the same thing again. “If she wants to get more piercings, more power to her.” And while Abraham is viewed as a very liberal parent by some, she admits there is one line that she may not be able to cross and that’s tattoos.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever be down for a tattoo,” Abraham admitted. So it looks like Sophia will have to wait until she’s 18 if she wants a tattoo in the future.
