One thing absolutely no one loves? Unsolicited advice. Whether it comes from well-intentioned aunts ("I really think you'd look better with a more subtle shade of lipstick") or random bros on the street ("If you smiled more you'd look twice as pretty!"), it's very rarely welcomed. But it's especially annoying when it comes to advice about acne—something that's frustrating and stressful enough on its own, not to mention when someone else not only actively notices it but tries to tell you how to treat it. Celebrities aren't immune to it either, as Lorde—who's been open about her acne in the past—revealed on Saturday when she posted a series of Instagram stories humorously detailing her own experience.

First spotted by Allure, the singer shared a photo of herself doing some light-mask therapy, then opened up in a following video about her own struggle with acne. "For real though, acne sucks," she said. "You know what also sucks? When you’ve had acne for years and years and years, done all the drugs, tried all the things, and people are still like, 'You know what worked for me, is moisturizing!'"

She then goes on to list all the things people suggest to help treat it (as if one hasn't tried anything): "Make a mask out of honey, greek yogurt, and avocado! All you need to do is buy an apricot scrub! Coconut oil, the secret is coconut oil!" Lorde also lists the worst: that some people, despite the bounty of information available on the Internet, can still think that people with acne just haven't washed their faces in awhile. To be clear: that's not the root of the issue with persistent acne.

In the end, she throws out some solidarity to fellow acne-sufferers: "For everyone out there who’s got bad skin—and actual bad skin, not just the kind of bad skin you can just use a fancy skin cream for a few days and it’ll all get better—I feel your pain. We’ll get there, we will, I promise."
