Niall Horan’s Album Is Coming, But Not Before He Does A ‘Disappearing Act’

‘I’m gonna fall off the face of the earth’

Niall Horan’s been quite the busy lad lately, but he’s continuing to keep fans in the loop about his solo music, his holiday schedule, and his plans to “fall off the face of the earth.”

The One Direction singer — who recently launched his solo career with the single “This Town” — wrote a letter (in his actual handwriting, no less) that hit fans’ inboxes late last night (December 5). Niall began the letter by thanking fans for their ongoing support of “This Town” and recounting all the “incredible” performance opportunities he’s had lately. Then he gets to the juicy stuff: updates about his forthcoming debut solo album.

“So when I haven’t been doing promo, I’ve been in the studio recording my album,” he wrote, adding that he’s been working with veteran producers Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, James Bay) and Don Was (John Mayer, Bob Dylan). “For me to work with this caliber of producers is pretty amazing really, and I’m humbled that they wanna work with me,” he wrote.

Niall describes the recording process as “insane” and reveals that all the music is being recorded live with a full band.

“I’m currently eight songs deep and ready for more,” he dished. “I want to take my time with no pressure and make sure I get it right. I’m quite the self critic, which I like about myself. So I’ll let you know when I’m done.”

Next on Niall’s slate is an appearance on The Tonight Show, followed by more Jingle Ball performances. After those, he plans to head home to Ireland for the holidays to “spend some quality time with family and friends.”

“After Christmas I’m gonna fall off the face of the earth and do one of my disappearing acts. I want to come up with more song ideas and get back in the writing zone. So have a lovely Christmas and happy New Year and I’ll see ya in Feb,” he finished the letter, endearingly signing it as “Nialler.”

Mark that on your calendars, Niall fans: He’ll be back in February to show us even more of his solo goods. The countdown is on!
