A car accident Thursday has left Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton in critical condition in Miami. Paramedics had to amputate his left arm to remove him from the vehicle, the Sun Sentinel reports. Norton, 22, is expected to survive; his agent said he suffered multiple injuries. The Highway Patrol report said Norton's pickup hit a concrete barrier near Miami and flipped onto its roof. Another car was involved, but its driver wasn't injured. Two passengers in Norton's truck were hurt. One was Norton's girlfriend, per CBS.

The Dolphins claimed Norton off the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad near the end of last season, though he didn't play in a game. The 6-3, 314-pound lineman was put on Miami's roster and was expected to compete for a job next season. He played three years for the University of Miami, leaving for the NFL after his junior year. He might be best known for playing air guitar on Florida State quarterback James Blackman's leg, per Local10, after tackling him during a 24-20 victory over the rival Seminoles in 2017.
