After months (or has it been years?) of speculation, we finally know exactly when the iPhone 8 will be announced. Thanks to an invitation to a "special event," Apple has basically confirmed that they'll be debuting their newest creation on September 12.

While many had suspected that would be the premiere date of the latest iteration of the iconic phone, the email that went out today confirms not only the date and time (10 a.m., PST) but also the location — the new Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, home to Apple's headquarters.

What can we expect from the new iPhone (whether it's the iPhone 8, X, or Edition)? Rumor has it that facial recognition, wireless charging, a bezel-less body, and a new blush gold color may all be on the table. Apple's also expected to launch updates to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, in addition to a potential update to the Apple Watch

We already know that it'll be running the new iOS 11, which was announced earlier this year at WWDC and promises to be another huge game-changer. Other than that, though, we'll just have to wait 'til September 12 to see just what Apple has in store for us.
